Goods are carried subject to the company’s conditions of carriage. This receipt constitutes a contract between the sender and the company. Copies of carriage conditions are available at the carrier’s office.
Tahmeed Transporters shall not be responsible for loss, damage, destruction, deviation, mis-delivery or detention caused by fire, accident, natural disaster, leakage, breakage or negligence of any kind.
The company does not undertake to carry consignments by special lorry or stipulated route unless agreed.
The company is not responsible for theft by employees, agents or third parties once confirmed in writing by management.
Where goods pass beyond the company’s delivery limits, responsibility ends at that point. Further transport will be handled by other carriers.
The company will not accept prohibited goods including inflammable liquids, gas cylinders, explosive chemicals, agricultural produce, game trophies, or goods requiring special permits.
Claims must be made in writing within 15 days of occurrence and no later than 90 days from the date goods were received for carriage.
The company may refuse to release consignments where identity is in doubt. Proper identification may be required.
The company retains a general lien over goods for unpaid charges. Goods may be sold after 14 days of written notice if charges remain unpaid.
Liability for loss or damage shall not exceed Ksh 5,000 or one hundred times the carriage charge, whichever is lower.
Storage charges apply after 14 days. Perishable goods not collected within 48 hours may be destroyed without claim.
The company does not guarantee notification of goods arrival.
Signing the waybill without remarks confirms correctness of the consignment. Damage claims must be reported before signing and collecting goods.
Goods are accepted entirely at owner’s risk. Insurance is recommended for valuable items.
